March  2012

Upper Canada claimed 12 medals at the Edmonton International Judo Tournament including Zachery Burt, Brianna McCracken and Megan Nagy each with 2 gold medals in the U20 and Senior division of the Edmonton International. Pictures can be seen here

Upper Canada took home 7 medals in the Peel Region Judo Tournament

Upper Canada wins top Club at the at the Morris Cup for its Junior Team..Congratulations to all the Athletes.

Congratulations to Brianna McCracken, Zachary Burt, Jonah Burt, Mackenzie Burt and Team Ontario Head Coach Dave Burt as the Upper Canada Judo team took home a Silver and 2 Bronze medals at the Canada Winter Games.

Also congratulations to all the athletes from across Canada that took part and competed at this years games.

This year at the Canadian Junior Nationals in Lethbridge, The Upper Canada Judo Club claimed the #1 Dojo honors because of the success of the team that we sent to the tournament.

Upper Canada would like to congratulate Youssef Youssef, Johnny Nagy and Jonah Burt for Qualifying for the Junior Pan-American Championships which will be held in Florida this year.

As well Youssef Youssef qualified for the Junior World Championships held in Morocco.

The Canadian Junior Nationals were held in Lethbridge, Alberta this year and Upper Canada came home with 5 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze and 3 5th place finishes.

Congratulations to Philip McCristall, Brianna McCracken, Jonah Burt, Zachary Burt and Erin Opaleychuk for successfully completing the NCCP 1 coaching course.

July 3-5, 2009

.  Upper Canada finished 4th in Canada and 1st in Ontario in the medal standings.

Briana McCracken has qualified to represent Canada at the World Judo Championships in Budapest Hungary in August.  Sensei Dave Burt has been named to the coaching staff.

The Upper Canada Judo Club hosted a clinic with Jason Morris, 5x US Olympian, silver medalist at the 1992 Olympics and bronze medalist at the 1993 World Championships.

We are located in the gymnasium of Mary Street Public School.  The main intersection is Mary and William street in Oshawa.  We offer over 1300 square feet of mat space including ample spectator seating.

Schedule

Our club offers junior and senior training sessions.  Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

6:00 - 7:30   Juniors & recreational adults
7:30 - 9:00   Senior competitive class
